 Drumbone steht als Synonym für Drums and Trombone und beschreibt meinen musikalischen Backround als Drummer und Posaunist.
Meine Freude, Lust und Leidenschaft beim Drummen und mein Bläserohr waren u.a. Grund für mich, sehr tief in die spannende Welt von Sound und Feeling beim Drummen einzutauchen.Das Grauen ist perfekt, wenn Schlagzeuger die Band oder das Orchester lautstärkenmässig niederknüppeln, völlig am Tempo vorbei takten und dann dabei noch ungestimmte Sets am Start sind die so furchtbar klingen, als würde auf einem Waschmitteleimer oder Katzenklo gespielt. Es muss kein High End Set sein, denn von alleine spielt und klingt es nicht! Das richtige Spielgefühl, die richtige Stimmung passend zur jeweiligen Musikrichtung in Verbindung mit den passenden Fellen und Stimmerfahrung sind der Garant für guten Klang. Jeder Drummer sollte, nein muss in der Lage sein das Set zu stimmen und seine Lautstärke der Situation anzupassen --- weniger ist oftmals mehr!!
Wenn die erste Hürde genommen, das Set gut gestimmt und ein anpassungsfähiger Drummer dieses dann spielt, kann man leider durch Unwissen und falscher Mikrofonierung wieder alles kaputt machen. Deshalb gehört es mit dazu, das Drummer sich mit der richtigen Mikrofonierung von Schlagzeugen beschäftigen um im Fall der Fälle einem unerfahrenem Tontechniker etwas unter die Arme greifen zu können. Hier gilt, nur was vorne rein geht kann hinten wieder raus kommen! Damit ist gemeint, die Basis muss stehen und das Set muss stimmen. Eigentlich logisch, oder!? aber zu oft erlebt man das Gegenteil, achtet mal drauf!

My joy, desire and passion in drumming, blowing horns and my blower music ear etc. were amongst other reasons for me to dive into the exciting world of sound and feeling of drumming. The horror sound is complete when the drummer´s stroke is powerful, loud and higher than the band or orchestra, above the rhythm pace, beats and then of course untuned sets from the very start and sounds as terrible as if one is playing on washing detergent boxes or cat pans. It need not be a High End Set, because on its own it does not play and make a sound! The right playing is feeling the right mood, in tune with the right style of music connected with the right skin colour and voice guarantees a good sound. Every drummer should, no, must be able to adjust the Set and its right volume respectively ---- less is often more!! The first obstacle, taken that the Set is well tuned and the right drummer plays, is through lack of knowledge. Use of false miking, can unfortunately destroy everything. Therefore it is important that drummers have knowledge of the right microphones to use for drums and can assist inexperienced sound technicians. Here it is important to note, that what goes in can only come back out! This means, the foundation must be in place and the Set must be right. But very often one experiences the opposite.
